Q&A:
Can I use Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna as a tooth powder and to cleanse my whole mouth? Would it also be safe to swallow the clays?
Both Sacred Clay and Mineral Manna make an excellent alternative to tooth paste if used lightly or occasionally.
They may also serve as a tooth cleaner & whitener where surface-only stains are involved. A light brushing simply scrubs the stains away.
They are effective at reducing plaque buildup (often the result of sugar/fruit intake) simply due to the way minerals in the clay naturally bond with the mineral buildup in the plaque.
The astringent feeling left in the mouth from a brushing with the clay, or a mouth swish with clay water, leaves the mouth feeling fresh and clean.
Mineral Manna contains four earthen mineral sources (including Sacred Clay) plus Himalayan Salt, so it provides additional qualities to a brushing or mouth swishing experience compared to Sacred Clay alone, yet both are effective for the above.
While either can be swallowed following a light brushing, in the case of mouth swishing which takes a greater length of time, it may be wiser let the toxins or germs be carried away down the drain rather than process the combination of clay and mouth contents through the elimination channels.
A light brushing is a minor event and would likely be similar to drinking clay water if the clay were consumed, but a mouth swish of 1-5 minutes with the clay would hold enough toxins from deeper layers so that I would prefer to let that go down the drain.
Since the clay bonds inseparably with toxins (and you are already swallowing your saliva with the same toxins), the clay would only improve on this pre-existing state if swallowed, though the cost is so small for a sprinkle of clay, it makes sense to simply discard the debris as an effective detox measure.
Be aware that due to the clay’s slightly abrasive nature, if brushed hard on the surface of the teeth it can reduce the enamel similar to a teeth cleaning at the dentist. Excessively hard brushing with the clay should be avoided, as light brushing is typically all it takes to be effective.
Stain Removal – Teeth Whitening
Due to the slightly abrasive particles, brushing with Sacred Clay & Mineral Manna will remove some surface stains, but not discolorations deeper in the teeth (due to fluoride in the water or antibiotics while growing up, both of which weaken teeth structure).
Where the brushing is unable to reach, like deep in the crevices between the teeth, the clay and a toothbrush is not as effective at removing the stains. Such a task is better suited for a dentist who has sharper grinding instruments.
Coffee and tea stains tend to lighten up or disappear even with a single brushing with Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna or Ancient Mineral Blend. The tiny grit particles accomplish this effectively when used lightly, with pure Sacred Clay having the smallest of grit particles.
Mouth swishing alone does not remove many stains, but does provide a soothing, strengthening effect on the gums and a cleansing of bacteria from the mouth.
Mouth swishes with the clay are entirely safe on the enamel and very cleansing of the teeth & gums when used similar to the “oil pulling” method.
Mouth Swishing Protocol is as follows:
Add one teaspoon of Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna to 4-8 ounces of water. Swirl or stir and take about 1 tablespoon of the liquid into your mouth. Swish for 1-5 minutes then spit out the residue. Repeat, if desired, two to five times for a deeper cleanse. May be performed daily. Can serve as an excellent preventative program to draw toxins from the teeth and roots before they degenerate into a state of inflammation.
Be advised that in most cases the prime trigger for tooth inflammations are sugar (especially in combination with fats, dairy, or proteins), nuts/nut butters, and alcohol resulting in a viral/bacterial/fungal overgrowth condition, coupled with a weakening of the immune response mechanisms of the spleen.
Nuts feed the herpes/shingles viruses. Sugar feeds the bacterial/fungal pathogens. Sugar and alcohol weaken the spleen, and thereby diminish its power to manufacture antibodies (whose function it is to destroy the viruses, bacteria, and fungal pathogens).
Mouth swishes and the internal use of Sacred Clay are simple protocols with which to bolster the general immune capabilities of the body.
Using Clay to Reduce Plaque Buildup
Plaque buildup on teeth is typically caused by sugar and fruits in the diet being in excess. Plaque is also reflective of mineral deficiencies in the body.
Daily use of clay minerals to clean the mouth (like when consuming your daily amount of clay water for mineral nutrition), does two beneficial things for the teeth & gums:
1) provides the body with an assortment of minerals to strengthen the teeth & gums, and rebuild enamel.
2) direct contact of the clay on the teeth allows for a mineral bonding effect with minerals in the plaque, thus dissolving the plaque itself.
If the Sacred Clay Darkens Your Teeth at First (like it did with mine at first)
For a small percentage of people whose teeth are more porous due to weakened enamel (often the result of antibiotic use), the resultant pores in the teeth enamel will naturally trap toxins and bacteria. Sacred Clay will be drawn to these pores which may result in an initial darkening of the teeth or crevices. This darkening effect is a testament to the powerful magnetic attraction Sacred Clay has to toxins.
Such was the case when I first began using the Sacred Clay back in 2005. I had taken antibiotics for 2 years back in the early '70's. This softened my enamel to the extent that the clay was magnetized to the porous nature of my enamel, causing a greying or darkening of the teeth surfaces.
If this is noticed, it is recommended to brush with Ancient Mineral Blend (which will not darken the teeth, yet is gritty enough to scrub the enamel free of surface stains) instead of Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna in order to clean the teeth of stains. Discontinue the brushing and swishing with Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna for a few months, during which a mineral-rich building program to restrengthen enamel is advised.
Even 30 years after taking antibiotics my first few experiences with the Sacred Clay resulted in a greying surface stain on the teeth. I brushed with Ancient Mineral Blend to remove it. It then took my own teeth about 6-9 months to rebuild the enamel from the former antibiotic use to the degree that the Sacred Clay no longer darkened the teeth. 13 years later this continues to be true. I consume clay water on a daily basis now.
Such a protocol would include taking Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna in capsules to prevent contact with the teeth, coupled with Earth & Sea Greens or Vital Cleanse & Nutrify, and other herbal system builders (along with an improved diet of course) to rebuild your tooth enamel.
This enamel rebuilding process may take several months, after which the Sacred Clay will no longer cause this darkening effect. Brushing or swishing with the clay may then be tested once again and continued if the enamel repair has proven successful.
Consuming Clay to Assist in the Rebuilding of Enamel
If the clay is consumed in capsules regularly for nutritional purposes the minerals in the clay will provide the building blocks to rebuild enamel over time (providing, of course, that the diet is supportive of general good health - "OK, So What Foods CAN I Eat?").
Will the clay repair a cavity or a broken tooth?
Only in rare instances, and only when the diet/lifestyle is relatively free of the teeth deteriorating influences of sugar, coffee, citrus fruits, colas, an acidic constitution, cell phones, and cordless telephones.
Draw Out Mercury Vapors with Sacred Clay Mouth Swishes
Due to the abundance of minerals available for bonding with heavy metals, Sacred Clay mouth swishes assist in drawing out mercury vapors which have escaped from your tooth fillings over decades of chewing food or gum.
Mercury vapors are also released in extreme amounts during amalgam filling removal – even if the removal process is performed in the safest way possible.
I have spoken with many clients with severe chronic health problems who, upon questioning, can trace the beginning of their health problems back to when they removed their amalgam fillings – with a conscious dentist.
A complete program for cleansing mercury vapors from the body involves the ongoing use of Sacred Clay for clay baths, mouth swishes, clay packs on the head, face and neck, and taken internally, coupled with the Earth & Sea Greens or Vital Cleanse & Nutrify and other system builder formulas to further enhance the detoxification effectiveness.

Will the clay help when a tooth is inflamed?
An inflamed tooth is a sign that the diet/lifestyle is out of balance, typically the result of consuming sugar, nuts, alcohol, and/or from other bone deteriorating influences like coffee, citrus fruits, colas, an acidic constitution, cell phones, and cordless telephones.
If the diet/lifestyle is improved the inflammation will generally go away. Even if the tooth deteriorates further there tends to be little or no pain unless the diet causes an inflammation.
In such instances it is helpful to pack clay around the tooth inside the mouth. It may not last long there, so this may have to be done a few times a day, and again just before bed, for best results, although there is typically improvements in less than one day or one night if applied regularly.
The beginnings of an inflamed tooth is an early detection signal, warning you that the diet or lifestyle needs correction, and if not amended soon, greater levels of pain lay ahead.
In summary, Sacred Clay or Mineral Manna provide an excellent tooth care program when used with both caution and regularity.
Many blessings of health & success.
